A new concept for connecting unknown artists and their work to retail customers and decorators; OriginalArtAtlanta allows all artists producing original, high quality pieces to “warehouse” their work at a central site for a monthly fee of $100.. Artwork is marketed, displayed and sold by OAA for 20 % of the ticket price. Patrons are encouraged to carry a clipboard and write comments on works as they peruse the merchandise. These comments are collected and filtered back to each artist as a learning tool.
OriginalArtAtlanta is designed to be a moderately priced volume resource for original artwork from non-galleried artists. The purpose is to educate new artists regarding the marketability of their work and solidify price points. Additionally OAA will spread original – “young artists” work throughout the community and at more reasonable prices for consumers. Price levels are predicted to fall between retail store prints ($30) and select gallery works featured at limited locations ($1,200 & up). Each artist will set their own prices and OAA will do no negotiating.
The grand opening is scheduled for a Friday evening in September. Once launched, the business will have regular drop off and sale days – 7 days a week. Location will feature soft drinks, lounging/viewing area with mock framing, children’s playroom and posted bios on each artist.
All mediums are accepted, but must be one of a kind and “tastefully done”. OAA reserves the right to disallow materials for any reason. Artists should email for instructions on initial account set-up. Artist registration is $25.00 initially and then $100.00 due monthly for marketing, display and sales efforts. Sales receipts tallied and paid monthly.
